Ten Page Preview of Monica Furious: SuperDestroyer #1
A look at the first ten pages of Jeremiah Goldson's creation, Monica Furious: SuperDestroyer. Art by Jeremiah, colors by Paul Little, letters by Michael David Thomas, script by yours truly.
Anatomy of a Cover: Jeremiah Goldson on Monica Furious: SuperDestroyer #1
Let's take a quick look at Jeremiah putting together the cover for his creation, Monica Furious: SuperDestroyer #1.
Here's the pencil rough (with a couple of interior sequentials peeking over the side.) The basic idea is already there, and now Jeremiah just needs to follow through and execute.
After a couple of minor revisions and improvements, here are the final pencils and inks.
And then we bring our secret weapon on board -- Colorist Extraordinaire, Paul Little! Paul works his magic and here are the gorgeous results:
Wow wow wow. That's a seriously dangerous cover! Unbelievable!
Introducing the Next Wave of Hypersmash Titles
I've written a bunch of posts about Lightning Girl Loves Rocket Boy, Battle Team Omega, and Rogue Agent Zed. Those were the first scripts I ever matched up with artists, and I consider those the First Wave of Hypersmash self-published titles. Two of those books are now published, and the third is getting prepped for the printers.
I want to take a second to introduce you to four more titles under the Hypersmash banner.
On the one hand, we've got Monica Furious: SupderDestroyer (created by Jeremiah Goldson) and Astro Crusader. I think of those as Wave II.

For Astro Crusader: script by Roel Torres, art by Fabio Nahon and Marco D. Carrillo, letters by Brant Fowler.
And then there's Black Axe, and The Lunar Colony Auditions. That would be Wave III.

The scorecard:
Lightning Girl Loves Rocket Boy. 52 pages. Superheroes.
Rogue Agent Zed. 52 pages. Sci-fi/Action.
Battle Team Omega. 52 pages. Superheroes.
Monica Furious: Superdestroyer. 60 pages. Sci-fi/Action.
Astro Crusader. 22 pages. Superheroes.
Black Axe. Page count TBD. Fantasy/Sword and Sorcery.
The Lunar Colony Auditions. 90 pages. Sci-fi/Drama.
We'll add more details as things develop. But momentum continues to build. That's over 328+ pages of original comic book material we're cranking out. And when all seven of these books finally roll off the printing presses, I figure we'll start to have the makings of a decent little comic studio...

Sample Sequentials: Jeremiah Goldson
I try to write a little text and offer a couple of insights on every post. But in this instance, I almost feel like it would be better if I stepped out of the way and let Jeremiah Goldson's abundant talent speak for itself. There are so many different aspects to his work that I admire -- his level of detail, his use of backgrounds, his cinematic layouts, his sense of dramatic pacing, his ability to create mood, his action sequences... It's all off the charts. His kung-fu is strong. But don't take my word for it. Go ahead and see for yourself.
(Note: As much as I'd love to be partially responsible for the pages below, all the credit belongs to Jeremiah. These pages come from his online webcomic, Monica Furious, and Hypersmash Studios had no involvement in their creation. Jeremiah has graciously agreed to share them with us so that we can build some excitement for the release of the new book we're creating together, Rogue Agent Zed.)

C'mon, you have to admit -- that's pretty impressive stuff. I don't know about you, but I'm blown away.
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Jeremiah Goldson is an artist destined to do great things in this industry.
I'm just glad that Hypersmash Studios gets a chance to work with him first.
Rogue Agent Zed one-shot (52 pages) by Roel Torres and Jeremiah Goldson is scheduled for release from Hypersmash Studios in 2008.
